Workshop: Embodied Futures of Migration

Mit Mandakini Pachauri

So, 11.10.2026, 17:45 – 19:15
What might a museum of migration become if, rather than starting with its objects or exhibitions, we begin with our own experiences of movement, memory and encounter?
In this workshop, we will approach the topic of migration first through the body, then through language and listening, and finally through the imagination. Starting with a short body-oriented exercise and creative writing, we will explore how perspectives shift when we perceive, narrate and listen to one another differently. We will then imagine the Museum of Migration in the year 2045 – not as a finished concept, but as a place where different forms of relationship, knowledge and participation become possible.

The workshop combines embodiment, creative writing and collective imagination to ask: What might change if migration were not merely the subject of a museum, but also said something about the museum’s own way of working?
