The project envisions the "pudding" as an intelligent, willful slime mass or matrix—an unruly source of terrestrial consciousness, dreaming deep within the Earth. This amorphous, entity serves as an oracular projection surface, generating inquiries into planetary interconnections, spanning political and ecological systems, inner landscapes, and cross-species entanglements. Slippery and mutable, it shifts according to the observer and the question, raising issues, potentials, and possibilities beyond the mirroring of reality. Through a fusion of research, social study, artistic practice, and psychological inquiry, the project explores ways of connecting with a shared inner self.
The station also functions as a performative tool, stage, bar, and projection surface, activated through scenarios like TOUR DE NOMBRIL, SOCIETY OF SUPA, and VIBRANT MATTER LAB.
Stephanie Winter, artistic director of SALON HYBRID, operates at the intersection of artistic research, performance, immersive installation, and film. Through SALON HYBRID, she creates feminist ecofictions, inviting experts, artists, and audiences into collaborative practices and rebellious alliances that explore multispecies and non-heteronormative futures. Her work engages with interconnected aspects of being, becoming, sharing knowledge, food, fermenting, dreaming, sensing, meditating, manifesting, healing, and unlearning—holding space for peace and embracing tentacular connections across species.
Since 2021, Winter has expanded her practice through MOTHERBOARD, a feminist and caring space for artistic and theoretical exchange with invited artists, experts, and audiences. Her artist book THE PSYCHE OF THE EARTH IS A GLOWING PUDDING, published in 2024 in Vienna, examines the intricate inner connections of terrestrial beings and living matter.
