The exhibition presents installations, photography and video. This is no fine art. This is no figment of imagination. These are fragments of surrealism which have become our everyday life.
We cannot remain silent when such things happen, to prevent them taking place in the future. Our intention is to speak up. Our language is art. Our power is hope for the better future for our children.
The exhibition focuses on the huge catastrophy which took place recently in Ukraine because of the Russian invasion into Ukraine. Civilian infrastructure, power and water supplies across Ukraine are constantly attacked by the Russian troops. According to a recent UN report, the number of people in need of access to safe water across Ukraine increased from 6 to 16 million between April and December 2022. This has a negative impact on health, and increases the risk of epidemic outbreaks in the country. A recent attack on the Kakhovka dam turned out to be a humanitarian and ecological disaster caused by the Russian invasion into Ukraine.
The exhibition takes place with the kind support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Austria, the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Viennathe and the Volkskundemuseum Wien, which gives space for an immediate response to recent events in Ukraine.
