The Workshop begins with an interactive historical impulse by Dr Alexandra Dolea on women’s roles, threads of memory and spheres of action. We then translate the theme into material: in the ceramics workshop led by Özlem Önen, individual clay works are created, inspired by historical images of women, intergenerational knowledge and personal references. The focus is on exchange, mutual inspiration and shared learning.
Özlem is the founder of commonroom and an architect. She has worked with clay for over 20 years and has given numerous workshops and classes.
Alexandra is a doctor in ancient history and archaeology. She has been participating in and leading numerous excavation projects for over 15 years. She has been co-creating “ancient forms” with Özlem since 2022.
This workshop is a collaboration with CommonRoom.
